Food shopping! I just don’t like it. Before I go to the supermarket, I prepare a list of what we need. Next, I drive over to the store and try to find a spot. I can never find one close. I always park in the back of the parking lot. After walking a 1/2 mile, I look around for a shopping cart and can’t find one!
That’s just the beginning for me. It goes on like this…
I stroll up and down the aisles pushing the cart collecting products only to find that no matter which supermarket I go to, it always seems like items are being moved from one spot to another. Once that happens, I can’t find them any longer and it’s walking up and down the aisles looking for an item and then going back up and down the aisles. Sometimes I find myself walking around the entire supermarket three times! It’s so frustrating…
Today, I was in Waldbaum’s in Oceanside. I went up and down the aisles finding things on my list. As I got to the last aisle, I noticed that I forgot to get the honey, instant mashed potato mix and the blueberry juice. I found myself quickly going back up and down the aisles searching for these items. I couldn’t find them. After about the fourth time walking around the store, I found a worker.
“Oh, the honey is down aisle 4, the mashed potatoes aisle 8 and the blueberry juice aisle 9!” Oye!
When I go food shopping, I feel like I’m on a scavenger hunt. All I want to do is get out of there within an hour and I find myself spending at least two hours walking back and forth and back and forth… What’s your experience?
