Now you too can be connected 24/7 — no matter where you are, what you do and where you are flying. However, not all planes offer Internet access only some, like American Airlines does.
About a month or so ago, a Facebook friend was telling me that he was so excited to be on Facebook in the air. Another wrote me an email while flying. I wanted to try it out too!
When I was recently on one of the American Airline flights I noticed that they offered Internet access so I turned on my computer and signed up for “GoGo Inflight” for wireless Internet. When I went to my Firefox browser, I was told that GoGo Inflight was down and to try again later.
Okay, maybe it was the browser….So, I tried a different browser. It worked! I got in. I went to sign up for the wireless service and realized I had a connecting flight in Dallas. What do I do? Do I have to pay twice for the service even though the trip isn’t complete in Dallas?
I decided to have an online chat with a representative of GoGo Inflight. His name was Wayne. I asked the question:
“If I have a connecting flight do I have to pay the $9.95 twice?”
Wayne said that on American Airlines you do have to pay twice. “Once the plane hits the ground, you are no longer connected and therefore logged off. In order to get the service again, you need to log back in and pay again,” he told me.
I decided to wait until the flight from Dallas to LaGuardia.
Wrong choice… the 737 from Dallas to LaGuardia was not equipped with WIFI. Oh well, maybe next time…
