This COVID-19 Pandemic sucks on so many levels. We’ve been locked in since March and many of us have not returned to our normal lives. I’ve been limiting my exposure and haven’t seen my family and extended family in almost a year. Travel is out of the question and now that Thanksgiving is here, I’m sad that my family isn’t getting together. But, the CDC says only have thanksgiving with people in your household, so that’s what we are doing.
I’m starting to hear way too many people getting the virus again. It may be nothing much for most people but since I have asthma, I don’t want to get the virus. I get a sinus infection and my asthma acts up. I feel as if my chest is heavy and I can’t breathe.
So, I’ve been laying low and leading a very boring life. (If you know me, you know that I travel almost every month to blog about a new place. But, not this year.)
What I do…
I work during the week mostly out of my house. One or two days a week, I go into my office and work with a mask. I’ll try to get out every morning for a swim, bike, and/or run. On some of my more exciting days, I do two workouts in one morning.
My weekends aren’t much more exciting. I run with my running group on Saturday mornings and sometimes, I’ll golf with my family on Sundays.
I keep my bubble small. This way, I know I’ll be safe.
Expanding the Bubble
At some point, we all need to expand our bubble. How do we do it? Here are some tips:
- First set up ground rules – no one can go into the house without a mask, spray the bathroom when you finished using, etc.
- Don’t share food or drinks.
- Stay consistent and only see those that you see each week.
- If you know people have been safe, get together outside for a meal or a drink.
- Keep washing your hands.
I try to avoid going indoors but if I have to, I wear a mask. Unfortunately, I haven’t been to a restaurant since this pandemic started.
