Here are three gorgeous million-dollar homes, which may be in your neighborhood. I haven’t been in any of them but they looked amazing and I decided to share only the ones I loved with you!
Houston, Texas
What a house!
Located in Montrose, a neighborhood known for its own unique urban vibe. This studioMET architects’ home was to be featured in the 10th Anniversary Houston Modern Home Tour. This modern home focuses on the quality of space and simplifying life.
The functionality and efficiency of the layout are key, as it has been designed for a family’s everyday living, rather than the big gatherings that happen once or twice a year. An example of these ideas combined is the use of large windows and glass doors that connect the home to the outdoor covered patio and pool area, cost-effective and simple expansion of the space that has proven especially helpful this summer, as many parts of the U.S. find themselves confined to their living spaces.
The home is located in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston, Texas. studioMET is an architect-lead design-build firm. This is a new home. Three beds. 3,100 sq ft. It is very open and efficiently built.
Long Beach, NY
Beverly Hills, California
Once the home of acting-legend John Barrymore, now this Spanish-style home with its red-tiled roof and gardens with winding paths through the cultivated jungle is still dreamy and romantic almost 100 years after it was built in 1926.
With almost 7,000 square feet of living area, seven bedrooms, and eleven baths distributed between the main house, two guest houses, and two apartments, the home’s charm is still quite evident in the dramatic fireplaces and redwood log floor in the cigar lounge. The master suite, one of three bedrooms in the main house, has a wraparound veranda with views of the city and the ocean. What gives this home character? Its paneled walls, a wine cellar, decks, terraces, original tile, wrought iron, and a fabulous painted ceiling in the main living room.
A new owner will never be far away from the home’s music of falling water from fountains or the pool waterfall. Listed by Douglas Elliman’s Josh Altman and Tracy Tudor, originally listed at $42.5 million in 2015 when the estate included seven acres and extra buildings, and later downsized to one acre, the home is currently listed at $15.9 million.
