This is the second year that I was a finalist in the Stevie Awards for Women competition. And, this was the second year that I did not win.
Does that make me angry? No not really. Well, maybe a little. I mean, who doesn’t like to win!
Interestingly, I noticed that Carolyn Kepcher, who was Donald Trump’s right hand person for five seasons on the realty TV show, The Apprentice, was also up for a Stevie Award. She started her own company called, Work Her Way. She took out a full-page ad and I’m sure bought several tickets and you know what? She didn’t win either.
What did make me feel good was that I was told that my blog was a finalist and was selected among 1200 entries across the world. I was one of four.
Who were the others? For starters there was Career Memos Blog, located in Washington state, The Sisterhood Blog from Euro RSCG Worldwide in NYC, Matrix Group International Blog, located in Virginia and www.HilaryTopper.com, located right here in Westbury, New York City and in Rochester.
I’m honored that I was chosen among all those other entries. As you know, I don’t write my blog to win awards. I blog because I feel like I have a lot to say and I am passionate about writing.
So for all of you who read my blog on a regular or even once in a while basis, I just want to thank you for reading it and for your input. And, by the way, do you think you can start commenting more often on my blog?
