I was coming home from New Orleans on Saturday from a business trip, when all of a sudden my phone rang. My plane had just landed and I was in the car heading east to Long Island on the Grand Central Parkway.
“Hil, it’s me, Lori,” Lori Alexy, VP of Client Services said. “I have good news to share. I’m engaged!”
“That is so wonderful,” I told her.
I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the rest of the day. What exciting news!
Then I started to think about the last few years and what we’ve all been through. I sent my daughter off to college and had a Bar Mitzvah for my son. Kristie had her first baby. Ellen moved to Long Island permanently from Pennslyvania. Lisa relocated to Rochester and just got promoted to Vice President. And now, Lori had something special.
When I came in to work on Monday, I called everyone into Kristie’s office. “There really is something special when you have a staff that has shared so many experiences together,” I said. “It’s really wonderful to be able to share all these things with all of you.”
