A couple of weeks ago, I went to see the Chris Isaak band in concert at the Paramount in Huntington.
I was totally impressed. I’ve been to many of the venues in Manhattan and in Brooklyn. I love seeing shows and for a while I thought that Terminal 5 was my best friend, I was going there so much!
But I think I have a new love, the Paramount. What a gorgeous venue! There are seats galore. I hate standing through an entire show. But, there was so much room that if you wanted to get out of your chair to dance, you could easily do that without disrupting the other fans.
The acoustics were excellent too. Members of the Chris Isaak Band are truly talented musicians. You could hear each pluck of the bass, each note on the keyboard and each stroke on the drum. It all came together to give a strong vibrant sound.
The band played oldies and goodies from Roy Obeson, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. It’s funny, when I was growing up, I never really liked any of these artists. Then when I got older and had a greater appreciation of good music, I realized that these guys really rocked the house! And, Chris Isaak and his band did them justice!
Everyone was up and dancing. What a great show and as for the venue, I plan on going back again and again. Why go into the city if the acts are coming out to Long Island?
Some of the upcoming shows include: Matisyahu and the Dirty Heads, Stone Temple Pilots, Fitz & the Tantrums and The Fab Four. You know where I’ll be the rest of the season! How exciting to finally get a venue that is in line with NYC venues!
Thanks Paramount for being there for us music lovers!
