Coming from Pennsylvania, the holiday season in New York has always been somewhat like a movie to me. The hustle and bustle of the city, the tree in Rockefeller Center, Macy’s windows, everyone bundled up in their winter coats… Sure, I visited the city a couple of times during the holidays, but when you don’t live there it’s difficult to harness the spirit all New Yorkers seem to exude this time of year.
It wasn’t until I moved to New York that I realized how special the holidays are here.
In New York, people go all out for the holidays, the parties, the decorations, it is a truly beautiful and wonderful time! Sure, they could lose the tourists (me 2 years ago), but the season wouldn’t be the same without them.
So from a true New Yorker now, Happy Hannukah, Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanza! Hope you all enjoy the holiday season!
