Twitter is down? Facebook is down? (All the other social networking sites were still up on Thursday, August 6, like Plaxo, LinkedIn, BrightKite, Foursquare, Koornk and Identi.ca…) What was going on?
Many of us thought it may be general maintenance. But why at 9 am and beyond? And why both of the most popular social networking sites used today?
According to the Washington Post, both companies were faced with a “denial-of-service attack.” Both companies offered quotes but neither knew who did it or how it was actually done.
And for the rest of us who use social networking sites in our business on a daily basis, it felt like the world stopped for a moment.
Thanks Twitter and Facebook for being back up again…Now what happened to Zemanta?
