At first, there were election signs all over the place. And now, after Hurricane Sandy, you can’t go a block without seeing solicitation lawn signs offering everything from floor tiling and excavation to sheetrock specialists and painters.
These businesses seem to be printing up signs and strategically placing them on every corner of every block. If you drive or even walk, you will see these lawn signs everywhere!
What gets me upset is that these businesses are getting free advertising. Who gets free advertising today?
If they were a charity, I could understand. But they are actually making money from our loss!
When most of us have to pay to put up signage, these businesses are cheaply making signs and putting them out.
Don’t you think that they should pay the City of Long Beach something for the advertisement? Our city needs the money now more than ever to rebuild.
If they aren’t paying to put the signs up, then someone should take them down. Don’t you think?
I mean, they aren’t giving us a free ride when they price out the job in our homes so why should they get a free ride with free advertising?
