The other day, Kristie Galvani and I flew to Rochester. We had a meeting with a new client and we had some other business going on there so we took the early bird flight out of JFK and landed in Rochester at around 9 am. Lisa Gordon, who runs HJMT’s Rochester office, picked us up at the airport and took us back to her house for a cup of coffee. (Her house was closer to our first appointment than our office so we stopped there first.)
Lisa is one of the most organized people I know. She put up a pot of coffee, put the creamer next to the coffee along with packets of splenda and a bowl of sugar. I decided I had enough splenda and went for the sugar. I put in two heaping spoonfuls.
I tasted the coffee. OMG was my immediate reaction! This tastes salty! I ran to the sink and spit out the coffee.
“Who puts salt in a bowl like this?” I said. The small bowl of salt was sitting next to the coffee maker. I know I have salt in a shaker. I thought that was the norm.
“I do the same thing,” Kristie said, “My uncle did the same thing in my house and drank the coffee.”
Both Lisa and Kristie were hysterical as I kept rinsing my mouth out. I felt as though I said a “bad word” and had soap in my mouth! As I told the girls that, I started to laugh too. The three of us didn’t stop laughing until we reached our meeting, which happened to be a great meeting!
Have you ever done anything like that before? Share with me your funny stories..
By far one of the funniest moments from your visit! And there were quite a lot of funny moments during this trip haha! Your next trip up I will make sure to put the salt away in the cupboard so you don't get confused again 😉
hahahaha… Yeah, I guess so!
A while back I had started a new job and was attending a dinner with everyone in the organization where I worked. It was a buffet dinner so I helped myself to what I thought was a dollop of tuna salad. After I lifted a fork load into my mouth I realized it was not tuna salad but rather horse radish…I looked up to see if anyone was watching and sure enough, one of my board members was watching me intently.
“You thought it was tuna fish, didn't you,?” he asked, smiling.
