Do you make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for your kids?
I never realized how much peanut butter and jelly would be such an important part of my day! Every morning for the past 15 years, I got up early to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for my daughter.
When I young, I never liked peanut butter and jelly. I would eat cream cheese and jelly but never peanut butter and jelly.
When I had my first, my daughter loved peanut butter and jelly and refused to have anything else for lunch. So since she was two, I have been making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day, or at least 5 days a week.
Today, when I was making peanut butter and jelly at 6 am, I was thinking that this may be the last peanut butter and jelly sandwiches I will make as a daily routine. My daughter is off to college at the end of the summer and next year there won’t be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to make.
In a way, it makes me feel sad that the years went by so fast and yet, I am so proud of the person my daughter has become. She has a long road ahead with new experiences and I will always have memories of peanut butter and jelly….
