I hate being sick. I mean who doesn’t? But when you are an entrepreneur and a mother it’s 10 times worse! The reason is you can’t be sick. You have to do all your daily activities, even if you take a day off.
I took the day off today. Stayed in bed all day. I was achy, throat hurt, coughing, sneezing, and had a really bad headache. But, I still had to get up at 6:30 am, to get the kids off to school. And, I still had to drive them to their schools. And, I still had to check in with work every few hours to make sure things were running smoothly. And, I still had to send out emails and reply to emails. And, I still had to clean up after myself and after the kids. And, I still had to help the kids with their homework.
Now, you may think that I’m complaining. I’m not. I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s just that when you’re sick, you’re held back from doing things that you need to do like prepare for the seminar that you’re giving this week on blogging. Or, prepare for those new business proposals that you need to write. Or, prepare for your trip to the Rochester office to meet with the folks up there. Or, even go to that gala that you were invited to go to tomorrow evening!
I guess I’m just feeling a little frustrated because I want to be able to do everything and I can’t. When things like this happens, like when you get sick or when you get hurt, I always think that maybe the world is telling you that you’re doing too much at that very moment in time.
In any event, I’ll rest up this weekend and be ready for a busy, busy week this week…. I am going to Rochester for two days, have new business pitches, am giving a seminars, am hosting a gala and am having another shot of cortezoine in the knee…. Sounds like fun?
