If you know Harry and David, then you know that they are one of the finest companies to order fresh fruits from and provide amazing customer service.
Last week, I sent a fruit basket to a friend in California. I was told by the company that the order would be delivered last week. When I found out that my friend did not receive the order, I was mortified! What happened? Harry and David is a reputable company and this never happened before!
I figured I would wait — maybe there was a shipping delay. On Saturday, I received a phone call on my home phone number from a representative from Harry and David.
“We’re sorry but your order is on back order and we will supply you with something different if you want,” the voice said on my answering machine.
I was furious. Here I wanted the fruit delivered at a certain time and now the company is telling me that they are not sure when they will have the item?
I called them up and got a young man on the phone. I told him what happened. He said he would send my friend a note telling them that it was their fault. I suggested that they send a note, send the gift and credit me a full refund on my credit card.
And you know what? The customer service representative said, “okay!” Talk about customer service!
That's my kind of customer service! I think you did the right thing in what you asked for. Glad to know they're a good company to deal with. But I hate when stuff like that happens!
