“Let’s meet at the Batavia rest stop on the NYS Thruway,” John Bradley said. John works for the Alcott Group, a PEO in Buffalo, with a main office is on Long Island. We decided to meet half way between Rochester and Buffalo.
Not sure where Batavia was and where we were going, I asked Lisa Gordon, Account Supervisor at HJMT, to guide us. Little did I know she didn’t know where the Batavia exit was either.
We drove and drove and drove. About 45 minutes later, we got to the Ontario Rest Stop on I90 and pulled over.
“Are you sure it’s here?” Lisa asked me.
“This is strange. I don’t recall him saying that he would meet us at the truck stop,” I said to Lisa, who was driving.
Kristie Galvani, HJMT’s Senior VP, was on the phone with us when we pulled over. She was in the HJMT Westbury office.
“Are you really at a truck stop?” she asked.
“Yeah, I’m not sure if we are supposed to meet him in McDonald’s or at the gas station,” I said.
Kristie looked at my calendar, which she now has access to. “Hil, you’re supposed to meet him at Bob Evans at the Batavia exit. It’s at exit 48 on the thruway,” she said.
“Well that explains it,” I said and we were on our way…
We finally found the Batavia exit, Bob Evans and John Bradley all in one scoop!
