The first thing I notice when I walk into an event is the color scheme. It sets the entire tone for the party. When I see black and golds, I think elegant. Purples and pinks, I think fun, and oranges, reds, and yellows, create a feeling of excitement. Depending on the type of event and the client would depend on my recommendations for which colors to use. Every affair is different because each client is different.
However, just like in the fashion world, the event world has its recommendations for what will place your event on that ‘Party to Remember’ list and the right color is a huge part of it.
According to Event Solutions Magazine (www.event-solutions.com), yellow is the “In” color for 2009. Which would mean that when deciding which colors to use, yellow should be incorporated into the room. Some colors are more easily paired together then others. However, yellow is a color that can be added to almost any combination.
So when you are thinking about color choices for 2009, don’t forget to add Yellow!
