We were in Amsterdam for one night and had a reservation at Bellezza. This restaurant was about savoring exquisite flavors. It was also an immersive journey curated by the talented Chef Davy van Wezel.
Known for his innovative approach, Chef Davy crafts a tasting menu that is truly a “Spectacle for the Senses.” It was a delightful blend of culinary art and sensory exploration.
A Journey Through the Senses
Upon arrival, guests were greeted by an intriguing audiovisual program introducing Bella. She was a character experiencing all her senses for the first time, setting the stage for a meal that engages every aspect of the guests’ sensory perceptions.

The meal began with a dish named ‘Pie Tree.’ It was filled with Opperdoeze potato salad, which tunes into the auditory senses. The subtle crunch and texture that evoke the rustling of leaves.

As the main program concluded, guests were told to go ‘up to heaven’ for dessert. There, we had a heavenly pistachio cream paired with white chocolate and cherry ice cream that offers a sweet finale to the sensory exploration.
Standing to savor this dessert, diners are then led to another bar room, where they can continued the evening with a selection of fine drinks.
