Every time I go to a hotel, well at least most times, the alarm goes off at either 5 am or 6 am. It’s almost as if the housekeeping folks are playing a bad joke on the guests.
How many times has it happened to you?
Hotel Alarm
The other day, I was staying at a Hilton in Florida, when the alarm went off at promptly 6 am. I was startled. It was still dark out and I didn’t know what was happening because I was in a deep sleep.
I reached over for the alarm, couldn’t find it at first, then tried everything to shut it off. After banging it, and looking for the plug to unplug it, I finally realized that the “snooze” button was on the top. I pressed it hard.
The noise finally dissipated. I tried to go back to sleep but at this point, I was up.
Thinking about other alarms
I don’t need an alarm. My body naturally gets up early. But when I can sleep in, it’s a pleasure. The hotel alarm going off early in the morning happens a lot. And, every time it happens, I think, are the housekeepers pulling a joke on me?
Have you noticed that shortly after the alarm goes off, there’s a knock on the door, “housekeeping.”
