During our recent trip to Spain, my husband and I enjoyed staying at Hotel AC Baqueira Beret, which is nestled in the heart of the Pyrenees. The hotel is ideally situated within a small mall packed with everything you could need during a ski trip. Surrounding it are ski shops, restaurants, and other hotels, making it incredibly convenient for guests looking to gear up, grab a bite, or explore the area on foot. Whether you’re a seasoned skier or a first-timer, this location ensures you’re never far from essentials.
Ski In, Ski Out
One of the reasons we chose this hotel was that it offered ski-in, ski-out. It wasn’t exactly that, though. It had ski lockers, which was a great touch. We had private ski lockers and an area to put on our boots and equipment and store them at night. The lockers were located in the basement, and when you took the lift up, you were at the gondola, which brought you up to the mountain.
A Luxurious Suite Upgrade
When we checked in, we were thrilled to learn that we had been upgraded to a suite on the sixth floor (Room 611). When we stepped into the suite, it felt like a cozy haven. The lower level featured a lovely dining area with a table, a comfortable sofa, a chair, and a large-screen TV perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes.
Heading upstairs, the bedroom and bathroom continued to impress. The bathroom was particularly noteworthy with its large jacuzzi tub. There was also a shower with a unique sloped design that delivered a perfectly forceful and invigorating spray. Every detail felt carefully curated to provide relaxation and comfort.
Indulgence at the Spa
The hotel boasts a fantastic spa on the first floor, which quickly became one of our favorite spots. It features a hot tub, a small pool with jets, a sauna, and a hammam. But what truly stood out were the unique showers. Offering a variety of experiences, there were options for icy cold water, scalding hot water, or even alternating sprays of hot and cold. After a day of skiing, this spa was a sanctuary where we could recharge our bodies and soothe our muscles.
Cozy Atmosphere and Incredible Breakfast
The first floor isn’t just home to the spa; it’s also where you’ll find a beautiful bar with a fireplace that exudes warmth and charm. Sipping a drink by the fire after a day in the chilly Pyrenees was bliss.
The hotel’s morning began with an exceptional breakfast spread included with our stay. The options were plentiful and delicious, from eggs to pancakes and everything in between. It was the perfect way to fuel up for an adventurous day on the slopes.
