Giving back is an important part of who we are at HJMT. Everyone on staff gives back by being on a Board, member of a voluntary committee or just a participant in a fund raiser. To us, giving back is one of the most important things you can do…
To that end, last week at the Academic Awards Night in Long Beach High School, HJMT gave out its first scholarship to a student who wants to study public relations in college. Ellen Heydt, project manager, covered the event. Here’s her speech:
THE HJMT COMMUNICATIONS SCHOLARSHIP FUND WAS CREATED BY HJMT’S PRESIDENT AND CEO, HILARY JM TOPPER AS A RESULT OF HER ONGOING COMMITTMENT TO THE YOUTH OF LONG ISLAND. AS A GRADUATE OF LONG BEACH HIGH SCHOOL, RESIDENT OF LONG BEACH AND LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER IN THE MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS ARENA, HILARY HOPES THAT THE RECIPIENT OF THIS SCHOLARSHIP WILL STUDY THE MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS FIELD AND LOOK TOWARDS LONG ISLAND AS THE PLACE TO BEGIN HIS OR HER CAREER.
ADDITIONALLY, HJMT IS PROVIDING THE RECIPIENT WITH A COPY OF HILARY’S BOOK “EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA, BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK…” THE BOOK IS WRITTEN FOR PROFESSIONALS WHO WANT TO BETTER EDUCATE THEMSELVES ON THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA TO GROW THEIR NETWORK OF FRIENDS, BUSINESS CONTACTS, ETC.
HJMT IS PROUD TO AWARD THE FIRST SCHOLARSHIP TO STEPHANIE SMITH, THE FIRST HJMT COMMUNICATIONS SCHOLARSHIP WINNER. ON BEHALF OF HILARY AND THE REST OF THE HJMT TEAM, WE WISH STEPHANIE WELL IN HER COLLEGE CAREER AND HOPE THAT UPON COMPLETION OF HER HIGHER EDUCATION, HER FIRST PHONE CALL FOR EMPLOYMENT WILL BE TO HJMT. CONGRATULATIONS!
Just wanted to share with you… Tell me if you or your company has a scholarship program. I would love to hear about it… Thanks.
