Every time I walk into New York Sports Club, I get my card scanned and the woman or man behind the desk says, “enjoy your workout!”
Enjoy my workout? I could barely get motivated to go to the gym, let alone, enjoy the workout. Who enjoys the workout? You do it because you need to do it. It’s a necessity not something fun. And then after the workout, you are totally sore. At least I know I am! I feel like I can’t even walk after an hour run or 45 minutes on the elliptical and then an hour with my trainer.
And talk about the next day… I am in so much pain. Now, you may say, “No pain, no gain.” And that’s true. But I thought it would get easier. I think the more I do this the harder it’s getting. I asked my trainer today if he is in pain everyday.
“Everyday something hurts me,” he told me.
Sometimes I think that liposuction is the better alternative and then, I think this is the natural way.
But have a good workout? or enjoy your workout? Are we really enjoying it? Or are we just suffering through it until it’s over?
(BTW, in a warped way, I actually think I like it…)
