Guest Blogger – Galvani Honored At York College!

This weekend, I was honored by my alma mater, York College of Pennsylvania. I received the distinguished recent alumni graduate award and was selected from all alumni from the past ten years. I was honored during the alumni awards luncheon last Saturday during Spring Alumni Weekend and got to visit the campus, which really expanded since I left. The day was very special and I wanted to share my acceptance speech with you:

It is very special for me to be receiving this award today. There are so many accomplished and successful alumni that I am truly honored to have been selected.

I wanted to quickly thank a few people starting with some who couldn’t be with me today. My boss for giving me the opportunity at HJMT and for being a great role model. My husband for being amazing and supporting and for not giving me too hard of time when I have to work really late and most importantly my parents for helping to put me through college and for being an inspiration every day.

Next, I want to thank my friend Aimee who is here with me today. Aimee and I were next door neighbors in Beard Hall freshman year. I am so glad we have remained so close and that she is here with me today.

Lastly, I really have to dedicate this award to York College. When I started at York I was a shy girl. No one would have believed I would one day be a successful public relations executive. Not only did York give me an excellent education, but I was able to get involved in so many different things that gave me leadership abilities, work skills, and most important confidence. Without York, I wouldn’t be where I am today. So thank you!

Kristie Koppe Galvani is the Senior Vice President at HJMT COMMUNICATIONS, LLC. She heads up the marketing and new business development for the firm. She’s been with the firm for more than eight years.
