Golf at CitiField?

golf

Could you imagine teeing off at Citi Field, the iconic home of the New York Mets? For fans of golf and baseball alike, this unique event combines the best of both worlds. During a chilly November weekend, my husband and I had the chance to experience the Citi Field golf experience, and while the weather was far from ideal, the day turned out to be an incredible adventure.

An Unexpected Golf Adventure

This isn’t your typical golf outing. Instead of lush greens and sand traps, Citi Field transforms into an impressive setup for a one-of-a-kind driving range experience. Tickets to this event were a gift from our kids, and it’s something I’ll never forget. The “course” featured nine creative “holes,” which were target areas across the baseball field. From each designated hole, players aimed their shots at various targets placed on the ballpark.

Some of the tee boxes were set up in unexpected places, including the upper levels of the stadium, while others were closer to the field on lower decks. To take your shot, you climbed up temporary scaffolds inside the ballpark. While some scaffolds were quite high, they offered incredible views of the stadium below. My husband, braving the 35-degree weather and a 20-mph wind, took over all my shots since I chose not to play. Watching him swing from such unique spots around the stadium was thrilling but nerve-wracking—I couldn’t help but worry as the wind howled around us!

A Cold November Evening

If you’re planning to attend this November golf event in the future, know this: it can get cold! The night we went, the temperatures dipped below freezing, and the gusty winds made it feel even chillier. Thankfully, it wasn’t raining, but my underdressed self learned a valuable lesson about preparation.

About halfway through the round, tournament organizers provided a much-appreciated water and peanut break, helping everyone refuel. A thoughtful staff member even passed out hand warmers, which became my saving grace. They were a small touch but kept me going during the freezing evening. If you consider attending next year, I highly recommend bundling up in your warmest winter gear and bringing gloves!

An Event for Golfers and Mets Fans

Even though I didn’t get to play, watching my husband enjoy this event made it all worthwhile. The experience offers something for everyone—from the die-hard Mets fan to avid golfers looking for a unique challenge. Seeing Citi Field transformed into a golfer’s playground was such a cool concept, and the creativity of placing “holes” all around the stadium added to the fun.

Why You Should Go

If you’re a Mets fan or love quirky golf experiences, this event at Citi Field is worth marking on your calendar. While they typically host it in November, you’ll want to check official announcements for exact dates. The experience is an amazing way to see a baseball stadium in a new light and provides memories that last well after the final swing.

Bundle up, grab your clubs, and prepare for a golfing adventure. Whether hitting targets on the field or watching loved ones play, the Citi Field golf experience is an enjoyable way to spend a crisp autumn evening. Look out for this event next November and be ready to add it to your list of unforgettable Mets stadium activities.
