How did you first hear about HJMT? Working as a reporter, I got to know Hilary and her team, who always helped to find me sources when I needed them.
What was your first job? I worked at a caterer in high school on weekends. It was fun.
Are you married? Any kids? I am married, with two teenagers.
What do you like to do outside of work? I like to walk, cook, listen to the radio, and watch indie movies.

Sport – I’m in a family of volleyball players, but I’m purely a spectator.

Where was your most recent vacation? Right now, we’re in staycation mode, though there is plenty to do right here in New York.
What was the most recent book you read? The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri, a beautiful writer.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? A university town where there is always a choice of cultural happenings.
Do you have any special talents? Writing, cooking.
If you could pick anyone for President who would it be? I’m rooting for the current team.
What’s a typical day like as a writer? Listening to people’s stories and figuring out how to tell them compellingly.
What’s your favorite part about HJMT? Everyone’s always friendly and helpful, and there’s a great selection of coffee at the ready.
What are you doing tonight after work? Attending my son’s concert.
