Experiencing High Tea at Lady Mendl’s in Gramercy Park

Hilary with her family

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Lady Mendl’s, a chic tea salon nestled within a Georgian brownstone in the heart of New York’s historical Gramercy Park. My son, Derek, treated me to a holiday high tea, also a birthday present for my daughter, Zoey. She brought her son, Ollie, adding a special touch to our gathering.

Family-Friendly Tea Experience in New York City

Upon arrival, the gracious owner informed us that children are typically prohibited. However, she kindly made an exception for Ollie, understanding that we would need to leave if he became fussy. To our delight, Ollie was a perfect little man, happy and content throughout the experience.

Indulging in a Five-Course High Tea Menu

The five-course menu was a culinary delight. We started with a choice of soup or salad, followed by an assortment of delicate finger sandwiches. We then enjoyed homemade biscuits. For dessert, we had the option of cheesecake or chocolate cheesecake, finishing with delightful little petit fours. Each course was a treat, beautifully presented and delicious.

Cherishing Quality Time with Family

Spending this time with Derek, Zoey, and Ollie was genuinely remarkable. Every moment was filled with joy and laughter, making it a memorable day. What a fun and elegant way to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company!
