Yes, I went to the Crosby, Stills and Nash Concert at Jones Beach tonight. I know…I know… they were a little before my time. And yes, I wasn’t the only one who thought they would come out in walkers and canes. The crowd was saying the same thing.
But you know what? They were good. I was actually saying to a few people in the audience that if we all sounded that good at their age, we were all in good shape!
They played some oldies but goodies…. “Our House,” “Deja Vu,” and “Teach Your Children.” When they first came out, they did an acoustic set and played some covers from the Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, James Taylor and Bob Dylan. At the second set, a band came out with them, and they played more “rock n’ roll.”
The highlight of the show for me was when they played “Cathedral.” That is my all time favorite CSN song. This was a big surprise because it wasn’t on the set list on this tour. My husband said, “they knew you would be here…”
So they are old and a lot of their songs are dated, but they still have the best harmonies around and they still “rock n’ roll”…
