If you get a chance to go to Ft. Lauderdale and want to dine at one of the best restaurants there, check out S3. S3, which stands for Sun Surf Sand, and, is located on A1A in the Hilton Hotel on Ft. Lauderdale Beach.
S3 focuses on Asian cuisine. On the menu, they have an array of interesting rolls. Some of my favorites include the Dragon roll, which had tempura shrimp, crab, cucumber, mango, avocado, and red tobiko; Riceless roll, which included tuna, salmon, and crab among other things; and I particularly love the Sushi Tower, which was a tower of a decompressed tuna roll served with chips.
The restaurant also has some interesting small plates and larger plates. When we dined there, we had the short ribs and the duck, which followed our sushi appetizers. (By the way, the sushi alone was enough for a meal.)
We also enjoyed the desserts, including the home-made donuts.
The weekend we were there, S3 had a “doggy brunch.” Since we loved the restaurant so much, in addition to eating there one evening, we went to the Doggy Brunch. Here, you could bring your dog to brunch and they served them food as well. We sat outside, ate a delicious brunch and watched the beautiful clear, turquoise blue water at Ft. Lauderdale beach.
The dinner menu prices ranged from $18 to $40.
