I was excited to have my first book tour of From Couch Potato to Endurance Athlete in Boca Raton, Florida. I have some family there and many of my friends moved to the area so I knew that this tour would be a success.
Boca Raton Book Tour
As I was setting up at the Boca Raton Barnes & Noble, a woman comes up to me with a baby stroller. I took a peek to see her beautiful baby, instead, it was a cut little dog inside the stroller.
She explained that she was an author as well and had written numerous books for children.
“I have gone around the world with my dog,” she told me. “The books are written from the dog’s point of view.”
“Oh, that’s so interesting,” I told her.
She asked about my story and I shared it with her. She was intrigued.
“Well then, I’m going to buy the book and have you sign it,” she said. She didn’t want to stick around for the presentation.
When she came back…
She happily came back with the book and asked me to sign it.
“Who should I make it out to?” I asked.
“Make it out to my dog,” she said. “I want this to be her book.”
The thoughts started to jumble in my head. Is this woman crazy? Am I crazy? Does the dog read? Does the dog know my thoughts?
I let it go. I signed the book to the dog and she was on her way.
I guess these book signings will be strange…
