I am so grateful that this year, like many of the past years, I had hundreds of comments on my page from people sending me “Birthday Love.” One thing I find strange, at least 90 percent of those who have reached out on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc., I don’t know.
That may sound strange but it’s true. And, some of the posts are exceptionally nice where these folks went out of their way to make my day special.
It is so nice of people and I guess people may think they know me because they follow me on social. Or, perhaps they find that my posts are inspiring. Who knows, whatever the case it’s really very nice.
Text Messages
Since my mobile phone is all over the internet, I also received multiple text messages especially from people I don’t know as well. I always am gracious and thank them kindly.
At the gym
The other day, I was at the gym coming out of the pool, when a woman screamed out, “happy birthday, Hilary!” I waved. I did not know her.
When I walked into the locker room, I laughed. She must be a social media friend, I thought.
Touching other people
It actually makes me happy that I can touch people I don’t know. I feel like we are meant to do something bigger than ourselves and when you make an impact on someone in a positive way, then you did what you were meant to do.
