I don’t know about you, but both my kids love baseball. When my daughter was younger, she played softball until she was in High School. And now, my son plays on the little league travel team. He absolutely loves the sport.
When he was younger, I hired a professional ball player to teach him how to hit and field the ball. I spent a ton of money on this. It helped but it really did take time, commitment and a lot of money.
If I had known about the videos — “Mom, Can You Teach Me How to Hit?” and “Down Broadway,” I would have saved a lot of money and would have been able to work with my son and spend quality time with him at the same time! Both videos gives a practical, detailed and entertaining approach to teaching children the fundamentals and basics of hitting, pitching and catching skills.
Even though my kids both love baseball, I don’t know much about it. I’ve watched both videos and really got a lot from them. “Mom, Can You Teach Me How To Hit?” is a story about a boy and his single mother. She tries to teach him how to hit the ball and is not sure how to do it until Bobby Woods, a former professional baseball player with the Chicago Cubs organization, comes over and teaches the boy how to hit. The story is compelling and does teach the parent and the child the skills needed to hit grounders and home runs!
The other video, “Down Broadway,” features Lefty Dever and Bobby Woods. This video is completely instructional and offers the child how to:
- throw a curve ball
- field bunts
- snap throws
- the appropriate signal stance
- and more…
