I love fashion shows. I find them unusual, different and intriguing. Last night, at the Czech Center New York, world-renowned Prague designer, Libena Rochova, presented her new collection during BENEFASHION, a fashion show that will benefit disadvantaged young adults.
The show presented a unique collection by Libena Rochova, entitled “Homage to Glass,” along with a collection by the students of the Fashion and Footwear Design Studio of the Academy of Arts Architecture and Design Prague.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Beauty of Help – Tatana Kucharova Foundation. The foundation, whose patroness is Tatana Kucharova who was crowned the title of Miss World 2006, supports projects that effectively help and solve the specific problems of disadvantaged individuals or groups.
Both student’s fashions and Ms. Rochova’s collection were high fashion, haute couture. There were more than 200 people in attendance, including photographers, reporters and VIP‘s. VIP’s included Actor, Gene Silvers who recently appeared on Broadway and is a regular on Law & Order, Olan, a famous artist who showcases his artwork around the world, Miss World 2006 Tatana Kucharova, NJ Devils player Patrik Elias, Czech Supermodel Linda Vojtova and many others from the fashion community.
Following the show, drinks and hors deourvres were served while guests and VIP’s had an opportunity to mingle. Kristie Galvani, Senior VP of HJMT and Lisa Gordon, Publicity Supervisor of HJMT did a great job getting the right media to cover the event both before, during and after.
