Lokanta 1741 is a unique restaurant in Istanbul, found above a fancy Turkish bath called a Hammam. It has a Michelin star, meaning it’s known for great food. The restaurant offers a special tasting menu, but we ordered dishes individually.
Our Food Choices
We decided to try the shrimp and octopus to start. The shrimp was cooked just right, making it taste sweet and fresh. I don’t usually like octopus, but this time, it was delicious. The chef knows how to make simple seafood taste amazing.
I had goose dumplings for the main course, and my husband had grilled lamb. Both were incredibly tasty.
For dessert, we had Crispy pastry, pistachio filling, and clotted cream. They were so yummy!
Dining in the Rain
The restaurant has an outdoor seating area, and we ate there even though it was raining. The heavy rain got everywhere, but it didn’t spoil our evening. Instead, the rain added a cozy feeling to the place, making it even more charming.
Final Thoughts
Even with the rain, the food was so tasty that it made the visit worthwhile. Lokanta 1741 offers a delightful dining experience with its delicious food and unique atmosphere. If you’re in Istanbul, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal, rain or shine.
