My interview with Andrew Patterson of Ironmanhacks.com was a great one! On my new podcast, Hilary Topper on Air, the endurance sports edition, we discussed his training for an upcoming 70.3 and full Ironman. I got the scoop on some tips and tricks he uses to become race-day-ready.

The biggest takeaway I got from our chat is that consistency is key when it comes to training for races. Andrew stressed the importance of making sure to stick with your program and not overdo it, as that can lead to burnout or injury. He also shared some tips on nutrition – including paying attention to hydration, fueling before and after workouts, and getting enough rest – that he himself follows when preparing for a race.

Additionally, Andrew of Ironmanhacks.com provided some insight on how to stay motivated when training for a big event. He recommends finding small goals and tracking your progress to give you a sense of accomplishment as you get closer to race day. For example, if you’re working towards running a certain amount of miles each week, try breaking it down into manageable chunks each day or week.

We also talked about Andrew’s favorite races and we discussed his website and why it is helpful for any new or returning triathlete.

Overall, it was an informative and inspiring chat with Andrew of Ironmanhacks.com and I can’t wait to put his advice into practice! I’m sure it’ll make a huge difference in my training as I strive to become race-day-ready.
