We live in a world that is so stressful. Between the war in Ukraine to new strains of Covid-19 making their way into our worlds, and then there is the daily stress of living between work and family, sometimes it feels all too overwhelming.
June Cotner recently wrote a book called, Hey! It’s Your Day — Inspirational Quotes and Affirmations to Live By, published by Mango Press.
Hey! It’s Your Day
June Cotner opens the book by telling the reader that she was always a collector of quotes. She jotted them down in her notebook and kept them at hand through the years. Unfortunately, her mother and grandfather passed away in her teen years and the quotes that she found along the way helped her cope. Now, as a mother of two and grandmother of four, she continues to collect quotes.
She writes, “Dear reader, I don’t know where you are in your life’s journey but I’m pretty sure you will find man quotes that will inspire you every day…”
The book consists of hundreds of quotes divided into dozens of sections, including adventure and aging to motherhood and spirituality. It’s a book that no matter what area you are in your life, you will get inspired. There’s even a section for pet lovers!
At the beginning of each section, the author explains why she included in the book and what it means to her.
Quotes I loved
“If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough” Meister Eckhart
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly” The Buddha
“When someone leaves you, let them go. Their part in the story of your life may be over, but your story goes on” Karen Salmansohn
“The thoughts we choose to think are the tools we use to point the canvas of our lives” Louise L. Hay
What did I think
This is a book to hold on to. It belongs on your bookshelf as a reference. When things don’t go the way you planned them to go, go to the book and find comfort in some of the quotes that relate to your situation. I know I’ll do that with my review copy.
You can pick up the book on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1642505153/.The price is $14.29 and well worth it.
