If you are injured with a leg or foot injury, or if you are sick and can’t get out of bed, what can you do to prevent going stir crazy? Here are some tips:
1. Read a Book
Pick a book or books you would like to read. You can download them on Amazon or just order a hard copy. (I prefer hard copy books!)
2. Learn a New Language
Always wanted to learn Spanish or German? Here’s your opportunity!
3. Listen to an Audio Podcast
There are so many on the market today and they are free! Put on your headphones and listen to a podcast. (Please consider Hilary Topper on Air, the small business podcast to help you grow both personally and professionally. You can find it here: HilaryTopperonAir)
4. Watch an Old Movie or TV Series
If you’ve seen the great movies of all time, watch them again! Or, watch something newer on Netflix, Amazon, or on YouTube. (Consider watching the Glasslandia series on Youtube.)
5. Listen to Music
You would be surprised at how music changes your mood! Listen to a solo pianist or listen to a different era of music. Just sit back, relax and enjoy!
6. Take a Course
Now is the perfect opportunity to learn something new. Keep your mind active and hopefully, the pain will lessen.
7. Go Outside
If you have outdoor space, sit outside, even if it’s chilly. Just soak up the sun and enjoy the beauty of your surroundings. Listen to the birds. Watch the trees blow. You will be amazed at how quickly time passes as you sit and experience your surroundings.
8. Tape your Journey on Instagram or Youtube
Record your journey so that others may be helped by it.
9. Check out a New (to you) Social Networking Site
If you haven’t checked out TikTok, check it out. You will get a good laugh. If you have never been on Instagram, download it on your mobile device and scroll through to see what your friends are doing. (If you want to follow me, my Instagram handle is http://www.Instagram.com/hilarytopper.)
10. Organize the Photo Box in Your Closet
Everyone has a photo box and if you don’t go through old photo albums and keep certain photos and discard others. It will make you feel better to think about all the good memories of the past and how you will continue to make beautiful memories in the future.
I hope you feel better! If you have any other ideas, please list them in the comments below!
