It never ceases to amaze me how everyone is connected in some way, shape or form.
When I first moved into the building at 1025 Old Country Road in Westbury, I was walking down the hall and I heard someone say, “hey Topper….”
I turned around and saw a man I didn’t recognize.
“Your Brian’s wife, right?” he said. “I recognize you from a party that I went to with a co-worker many years ago. Your husband and I have a mutual friend.”
After that, we became very close friends. The other day, he walked into my office after supporting me on my half marathon endeavor and he asked me how I knew a woman who also donated to my cause.
“I’ve known her for years,” I said. “I used to serve on her board when she ran a non-profit organization. She’s a sweetheart.”
“I used to work with her husband,” he told me. “He was my partner.”
Now, I would have never put that relationship together. But you never know, it really is a small world!
