I sent out a mass email yesterday to family, friends, clients and business associates letting them know that I am running in the NYC half marathon for Team for Kids, a team of volunteers who raise funds for critical services provided by New York Road Runners Youth Program.
These programs combat childhood obesity and empower youth development via running and character-building programs in low-income schools and community centers in New York City and throughout the country.
And you know what? I got back an overwhelming response from people who I hadn’t seen in a long time, people who I hardly know and people who I deal with on a daily basis. It made me feel so good to see the support from so many people.
I was asked to raise $1,310 for the charity, $100 for every mile. And I have a feeling I will go beyond that for these kids. And you know what? It makes me feel proud of my friends who support me! Thank you…
