A few weeks ago, during a networking virtual meeting, one of the members sent everyone a flower to color. (Yes, color, like in using crayons or markers…)
She explained it was meditative and we should all give it a try. I colored in my flower and found it quite enjoyable. So, when the publicists from Happy Place Coloring Book reached out, I accepted the offer to receive a book developed by Carlos Pinto.
Meditation
Coloring takes you outside yourself and if you focus on the strokes, you will enjoy a meditative state. Between your controlled breathing and the brush marks of your marker, you can also experience your “happy place.”
This book offers beautiful and complex images, unlike a traditional child’s coloring book. This is an intricate book. If you had two people in a room, coloring the same image, each image would look totally different.
Self-Help
In addition to Car Pinto’s works, there are points within the book that you are asked questions to help build your self-esteem and self-confidence. For example, in the Joy Journal, the page, Love Yourself – There is always a reason to smile. Pinto asks the colorer to use the space to focus on the things that you love about yourself – mind, body, and spirit.
You can even make a mantra in the “mantra” page of the book. In addition to that, Pinto includes meditation mazes and solutions!
Where to get it?
