#DOVEDermaSeries to the Rescue!
Full disclosure – I love DOVE Beauty Bar. I’ve been using it for years, ever since I did PR for them in the 1980’s when I worked for Ogilvy & Mather PR. It feels like a lifetime ago, yet, I’ve been loyal to the brand ever since. When I worked on the brand, we created a program to turn your home into a spa using DOVE products. Boy, have we come a long way since then!
Recently, I unexpectedly received a package in the mail from DOVE, via their new PR firm, Edelman PR. One of my former students, who I adore, works there and when she saw me at BlogHerHealth ’18, she asked if I would be interested in checking out two new products from DOVE. I was thrilled. “Of course I would!” I told her.
When the package arrived at my home, I unwrapped the box, which was beautifully presented and took the products out to try. I also noticed that there was a flyer enclosed that explained how 1 in 4 Americans are living with a skin disease, yet despite this “there is a lack of representation in the media.” DOVE is trying to change this with their “Make peace with dry skin campaign,” which celebrates all women.
I tried the DOVE DermaSeries Dry Skin Relief Hand Cream. My hands are always so dry, especially in the winter and on the day that I tried the product, they were actually hurting from being so dry. I applied the cream. At first, I thought, “is this going to absorb? Do I need to wipe this off?”
But within seconds, I didn’t have to do anything. My hands felt amazingly soft. Actually, they still feel soft a day later! I’ve tried many different hand creams and none were like this. This was pleasantly surprising. I also used it on my feet, which are cracked and very dry. It was amazing how much of a difference it made!
I was a little hesitant about the Gentle Cleaning Face Wash. I applied it to my face before stepping into the shower and then quickly removed it. Now, I had purchased a similar product, which was particularly pricey at Lifetime Fitness in Garden City. (That place is a “selling machine.” You can’t go in there without someone pushing product on you!) The product smelled good, but left a film on my face that didn’t come off with water. So, when I tried the DOVE DermaSeries Face Wash, I was anticipating the same experience.
Boy was I wrong! I applied it. I stepped into the shower washed it off and my face felt silky clean. It really did. I took my expensive wash out of my shower and dumped it in the trash. Instead, I will buy DOVE DermaSeries Face Wash! For only $10.99, it’s worth every penny!
The hand cream retails for $6.99 and you can pick it up at a local supermarket or drug store!
