Restaurant Review: In and Around Merrick – Villa D’Agua
My staff gave me a $150 gift card to Villa D’Agua on Bellmore Avenue in Bellmore. The restaurant is right on the water in South Bellmore. It’s a quaint little restaurant that is nothing much to look at from the outside, but the inside is homey and nice. You feel as if you’re going to your Italian aunt’s house for dinner.
My husband and I decided to go. We sat down at a lovely table near a window and started with a nice young amoroni wine, Masi Campofiorin 2013. Then we both had appetizers – Clams Casino and Buffalo Mozzarella with Arugala Salad.
Hmmm… nice and fresh!
Next we both decided on the specials. I got the stuffed salmon with crabmeat and shrimp. He got the branzino, which was light and crisp. It was paired with spinach and that definitely added to the flavor of the fish. Mine was interesting too. The salmon was broiled and the stuffing was soft so it had a nice complementary flavor.
The smells in the restaurant were incredible. My nose was having a field day enjoying the delicious aroma of the foods coming out.
After that, we shared a dessert. The waiter came around with at least 10 different choices. One looked better than the next. It was a hard decision. We chose the oreo cheesecake, unfortunately, that probably wasn’t the best of choices. The flavor was rather flat and didn’t taste great.
All in all, I would give this 4.5 stars. The food was incredible and fresh. I didn’t like the dessert but you know what? I could do without dessert! I would recommend and look forward to returning.
The cost of the meal for two was $154 plus tip.
