If you live in NYC, you know all about the Treat Truck. It’s a truck that travels throughout Manhattan, picks a location and then they stay put all day long. Believe it or not, the truck even has a name, Sugar. And, according to the web site, Sugar is environmentally friendly.
That being said, I found out about the Treat Truck on Twitter. Every day, they publicize where they are going to be.
On 18th Street going to a client event, I was telling Lisa Gordon, Vice President at HJMT, that I really wanted something sweet — a cupcake, an oreo, ColdStone, anything that had sugar!
As soon as I said that, Lisa said, “Oh look there’s the Tweet, I mean Treat Truck. Everyone talks about it on Twitter!”
Of course, Lisa and I ran over to the truck and got a sample taste of brownies, cookies and even some cake. I ended up getting flower cookies for my staff who were setting up for the New York Enterprise Report Small Business Awards at the Metropolitan Pavilion. I bought myself the last cupcake that was sitting on the shelf.
Unfortunately, I didn’t like the cupcake. It tasted like thick ginger bread with whipped cream on it. I like my cupcakes the way Lori Alexy, Vice President at HJMT, makes them — light and fluffy!
Happily, the sugar cookies in the shape of flowers were totally yummy! I tweeted out on Twitter that I just ate an amazing cookie from the Treat Truck. I wasn’t the only one that day who posted on Twitter. There were a handful of other people who also tweeted out about the Treat Truck.
So if you are in the mood for a treat, you may want to consider tweeting the Treat Truck to come to your neighborhood. According to their web site, they travel anywhere in Manhattan.
One of the best parts about the truck is the slogan — Not too fancy, always delicious….
