Oreos… Who Cares if They Are Addicting!

I don’t know about you but I was brought up eating Oreos.  Oreos and milk, the perfect combination.  You dunk the Oreo into the milk and after two or three dunks, the cookie gets soft and melts in your mouth.

I ate Oreos when I was a child with my mother. I ate Oreos throughout my two pregnancies (that’s probably why I gained 70 pounds for both) and I ate Oreos after my mother passed away.  Oreos have always been a delicious treat that always made me feel good.

The cookie has been around for more than 100 years, invented in 1912. I’m sure my grandmother ate Oreos and served them up to my mother as a little girl.

For years, it was chocolate cookie with vanilla cream inside. Then in 1975, Oreo introduced the double stuffed. That was a smart move.  I always felt that the chocolate overpowered the taste of the cream.

Now, Oreo is white and black cookie with cream inside; it’s white cookie with cake batter inside; it’s black cookie with cake batter; it’s black cookie with triple cream; it’s black cookie with double cream and white chocolate on top.  What is going to be next?

I’m absolutely in love with all the new flavors of Oreo and always have them in my house. (BTW, my kids love them too…) I guess it’s because Oreos have been a tradition in American families. And, if they are addicting… Who cares!  They taste good.
